The defender is pushing for his first start for the Premier League side.
Allan Nyom, during his time with Watford
West Bromwich Albion’s under-23 boss James Shan has seemingly tipped Allan Nyom to make his full debut for the Baggies’ first-team in the near future after praising his performance in a recent youth team game, the Express and Star reports.
Nyom was part of Shan’s team that beat their Aston Villa counterparts 5-2. And while that appearance came just a couple of days after he featured for Tony Pulis’ side against West Ham, the £3m signing (via Express and Star) is yet to make his first start for the club following his summer move from Premier League rivals Watford.

But based on Shan’s assessment of his performance on Monday, it would not be a surprise if Nyom is knocking on the door for the trip to Stoke this weekend.
“It’s my first showing of Allan the full-back,” he told the Express and Star. “I don’t know much about him but he was good, athletic, gets up the pitch, manages the ball well.
“Physically in one v one combat he was outstanding.”

With Craig Dawson – who has spent much of his career in the centre of the back four – playing on the right and young loanee Brendan Galloway on the left, it would be understandable if Pulis decided to pick an experienced full-back like Nyom for the trip to Stoke, as with the Potters currently bottom of the table, he may want that defensive stability that will frustrate Mark Hughes’ men into making mistakes.
And with Nacer Chadli setting the benchmark for the summer signings with his performance against the Hammers, Nyom will surely be determined to prove himself if he is given a chance in an attempt to keep his place.
