West Bromwich Albion reportedly want Sheffield United’s James McClean, while Stoke City are claimed to be interested in James McClean.

Simon Moore of Sheffield United celebrates during the Sky Bet Championship match between Reading and Sheffield United at Madejski Stadium on February 27, 2018 in Reading, England.

Simon Moore interest

West Bromwich Albion are in talks with Sheffield United over the transfer of Simon Moore this summer, according to The Express & Star.

It has been reported that West Brom – who got relegated from the Premier League at the end of last season – are interested in signing goalkeeper Moore from Championship rivals United in the summer transfer window.

The Baggies are reported to be in talks with the Blades over the 28-year-old goalkeeper and want him as a back-up to Sam Johnstone for the 2018-19 campaign.

Good move?

Moore is an experienced goalkeeper, and the former Brentford custodian would be a good signing for West Brom in the summer transfer window.

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Johnstone will be the number one goalkeeper for the Baggies next season, but the 25-year-old needs competition, and Moore would give him that.

James McClean situation

Meanwhile, West Brom and Stoke appear to be at an impasse regarding the transfer of James McClean.

According to The Birmingham Mail, Stoke want to sign McClean from West Brom in the summer transfer window.

The Potters, though, do not want to pay the £6m transfer fee that the Baggies want for the 29-year-old Republic of Ireland international midfielder, according to the report.
