West Brom were promoted to the Premier League on a dramatic Championship final day on Wednesday night.
They drew against Queens Park Rangers but Brentford’s home loss against Barnsley meant they are back in the promised land.
Speaking to the Times, Baggies frontman Hal Robson-Kanu lifted the lid on the celebrations, saying: “Celebrations got the better of me. We went outside and didn’t realise there were fans out there and we were absolutely mobbed.
“There were thousands. They just wanted to share it with us. There was a barrier between us, we were at the door on the steps and they were in the car park. It was incredible.
“It’s been such a strange and taxing year, to finally get over the line was such an incredible feeling, I had tears in my eyes.”

It shows just how much it means to the club and players to get back into the big time.
The Championship is a slog and to get over the line and into the top flight again is what it’s all about.
For Robson-Kanu, the hard work of ensuring they can stay in the Premier League will start soon, but nobody would begrudge them a period of celebration first, after such a draining end to the campaign.
