Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis is reportedly keen on a reunion with West Bromwich Albion ace Chris Brunt.

According to a recent report from TEAMtalk, Middlesbrough boss Tony Pulis is eyeing a reunion with West Brom ace Chris Brunt at the end of the season.

The Baggies are heading for the Championship at an alarming rate right now. Alan Pardew’s men are now 10 points off safety with just seven games left, and go into those final fixtures off the back of a run of eight successive defeats.

It seems highly possible that West Brom’s squad will look significantly different on the first day of next season with a number of their players attracting attention – TEAMtalk reports that Craig Dawson, Ben Foster and James Morrison are also all being targeted by Boro boss Pulis.

Brunt may not have enjoyed the best season, but West Brom should look to hold onto the veteran for another year as he boasts the kind of experience and versatility that could be important if a clear-out is on the cards.

The 33-year-old could have an important role to play next season at The Hawthorns and Alan Pardew, or whoever the manager is next term, should not allow him to leave – especially if Boro fail to secure promotion out of the Championship this year.

Brunt may not be the flashiest player that West Brom are likely to have at their disposal and may be reaching the twilight of his career, but keeping him at the club for another year could be hugely valuable as they look to keep the core together that will hopefully be able to get them promoted at the first attempt.
