West Bromwich Albion should join the race for Celtic striker Moussa Dembele – who is reportedly set to be the subject of a bid from Brighton.

Dembele has been excellent during his time at Parkhead, scoring 21 Scottish Premiership goals in just 37 games for the Hoops – while he has also featured regularly in the Champions League and helped Brendan Rodgers’ men lift four domestic trophies out of four since his arrival.

Unsurprisingly, the Frenchman is attracting Premier League attention – with the Mail suggesting earlier this week that Brighton are plotting a move for the 21-year-old in January.
The Mail adds that Brighton’s expected offer will fall £10 million short of Celtic’s asking price, but even if a deal looks extremely unlikely at this current moment, West Brom should not allow Brighton’s bid to the only one that the Bhoys answer next month.

The Baggies should definitely put the former Fulham starlet on their radar. Alan Pardew is not blessed with a squad that boasts a lot of fire power and variety up front, so having someone of Dembele’s pace and natural finishing ability leading the line could be a game-changer for West Brom.
If Dembele was already playing in the Premier League and was boasting that kind of goal tally, he would surely cost significantly more than the £30 million that Celtic reportedly want, so he could prove a bargain.
West Brom may not be able to offer the full amount, of course, but they should certainly rival Brighton’s bid in the hope that Celtic’s reported asking price is not as high as suggested.
Signing Dembele would be a coup for any Premier League club if they managed to lure him away from Parkhead, West Brom would surely be missing a major trick if they allowed Brighton to sign a player who could be perfect for them.
