West Bromwich Albion winger James McClean has been linked with a move away this summer, and the Baggies need to consider replacements.

McClean has never quite managed to win over all of the Baggies fanbase, but it will still be a blow for Darren Moore’s men to lose the Republic of Ireland international this summer ahead of their first season back in the Championship, especially as the Potters are already looking like serious favourites for promotion next term.

The Daily Mail (27/06; 14:44) recently reported that Stoke also have their eye on Brentford’s Sergi Canos, and he is a player that West Brom should certainly add to their shortlist if McClean completes his move away.
Canos is still perfecting his game, but he is arguably one of the most exciting players in a Brentford side that get nothing like the credit they deserve for their finishes in the Championship and the style of play that continually keeps them on the periphery of the play-off discussion.

The Spaniard would arguably bring the creativity that West Brom often lacked last season, and stir up the excitement that may boost the Baggies’ hopes of building on the momentum that they gained during Moore’s spell in interim charge.
Losing McClean could be reflected upon as a real setback at some stage down the line if he is not replaced during the coming weeks. Canos may not be the complete winger just yet, but he is the kind of player that could allow the West Brom fans to forget about the Stoke-bound wide-man very quickly.
