West Brom should sell Saido Berahino to Stoke, but only if they get Bojan in return

West Bromwich Albion forward Saido Berahino is a target for Stoke City, but the Baggies should only sanction a deal on one condition.

A recent report from Sky Sports suggested that Stoke City had made a bid for Saido Berahino. And while West Brom should be willing to sanction a deal, it should be on the condition that one of the Potters’ most talented players comes the other way.

Sky Sports reports that Berahino’s deal at the Hawthorns is set to expire at the end of the season, so it may make financial sense for the Baggies to let him go now unless they fancy their chances of securing a sizeable fee if a tribunal is needed.

Stoke’s bid would at least hint that they are at the front of the queue for his signature, so West Brom should entertain the idea of doing business with Mark Hughes’ men, and they should try to get Bojan to come in the opposite direction.

Another report from Sky Sports suggested that Bojan wants to leave the Bet365 Stadium this month if the right opportunity comes along, having struggled to hold down a regular spot in the team.

Sky Sports reported that the Baggies had been interested, and some kind of swap deal arguably makes perfect sense for Tony Pulis.

It seems to be up in the air whether Berahino will play for the first-team again, while his departure seems almost inevitable given the current situation.

And using his departure to land a player of Bojan’s calibre could be the ideal outcome. Though he has endured a mixed time with Stoke, he has shown that he has the talent to shine in the Premier League.

And with the likes of Matt Phillips, Nacer Chadli and Salomon Rondon already shining in the Baggies’ front four, adding Bojan could be the signing that puts West Brom in pole position to secure a top-half position.
