West Bromwich Albion have made a good start to the new Premier League season, but could surely still do with more goals in their side.
According to a recent report from the Telegraph, Liverpool are prepared to loan Divock Origi out before the transfer window shuts in an attempt to get the Belgian some additional game-time.
If that proves to be the case, then Tony Pulis would surely be wise to consider offering to take the Belgian to West Brom for the season as it could be an excellent deal for the Baggies.
West Brom have started the new campaign very promisingly, having won two and drawn one of their opening three Premier League games.
That record would be even better and the Baggies would likely have three clean sheets under their belt if Ahmed Hegazi had not made a mistake which cost them in their 1-1 draw with Stoke – but that excellent start should surely not be enough to tempt Pulis to relax during the final days of the transfer window.
In those games, West Brom have scored just three goals. So while the season is still very much in its infancy, it appears that the Baggies may well be on course to achieve a goal tally similar to last season when they ended up scoring just 43 times in 38 games – comfortably the second-lowest in the top 12 of the division.
Jay Rodriguez has been signed and has looked lively, but adding more fire-power should be something Pulis seriously considers, and thus, the report linking Origi with a loan exit should be of interest to him.
The Liverpool man has endured a difficult time since arriving in the Premier League, but a run of games in a top flight team could be exactly what he needs – he certainly has the talent to be a very good player.
And by bringing him in on loan, Pulis has the ability to use the majority of his budget on strengthening other areas of the squad and has no obligation to keep the 22-year-old if things do not work out.
