The Liverpool striker would be an excellent addition to the West Bromwich Albion squad.

Baggies fans were left disappointed last season, despite their side’s 10th placed finish in the Premier League table, and they will be hoping for more entertainment at the Hawthorns this time around.

West Brom lacked any kind of potency in front of goal last term, but Tony Pulis has at least made an effort to rectify that, by bringing in Jay Rodriguez for £14 million from Southampton.

That signing on its’ own will not be enough, however, and Pulis will surely be looking to supplement the acquisition of Rodriguez by bringing in another top-class striker this summer.

And with this in mind, the Baggies should attempt a bold move for Reds hitman Daniel Sturridge, and make him their marquee summer signing.

The 27-year-old forward has endured horrendous luck with injuries throughout his career, but is now back to 100 per cent fitness, and undoubtedly still has a lot to offer at the very highest level.

The former Chelsea and Manchester City man could be available for around £25 million this summer, according to the Liverpool Echo, and whilst that would be a lot of money for West Brom to lay out, the benefits that they could reap from bringing him to the Hawthorns would make it totally worth the risk.

Sturridge’s class is beyond question, with 60 goals in 119 outings for Liverpool. He is clinical in front of goal, and the fact that he is left-footed would provide greater balance to the Baggies’ attacking play.

And if Pulis manages to bring the England international to the Hawthorns this summer, it could turn out to be the signing that makes all the difference for them next season.
