West Bromwich Albion captured the imagination during the summer transfer window by bringing Grzegorz Krychowiak to The Hawthorns on loan.
When the summer transfer window closed, it is fair to say that few deals had captured the imagination quite like West Brom’s loan move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak.
The Poland international has been one of the best holding midfielders in Europe over the last few years, so landing him for the campaign certainly appeared to be a massive coup for the Baggies.
So perhaps Tony Pulis should look to repeat the trick during the January transfer window following a recent report from Marca which suggested that one of Barcelona’s summer signings is currently unhappy about his lack of game-time.
Gerard Deulofeu is a player that Premier League fans will know well due to his time at Everton, which came to an end this summer as he returned to the Nou Camp in a deal worth £10.5 million, according to the Daily Mirror.
Marca suggests that he may consider leaving the Catalan giants in January due to his lack of opportunities since leaving Goodison Park, and the Baggies should try their luck and make a loan bid for the 23-year-old.
Though the winger could be frustrating and inconsistent at times, there is no question that he has plenty of attributes that would make him a tremendous addition to the West Brom squad.
He has the quality and the skill to give opposition full-backs a number of problems and create a number of chances from the wide areas – and that ability to create something from little could help make the Baggies a much more difficult side to come up against.
It may seem an unlikely deal, but West Brom’s ability to land Krychowiak just hints that if Barca are willing to let Deulofeu leave on loan in January, it would be foolish to write off the Baggies’ chances of convincing the wide-man to return to the Premier League if they made a bid.
