West Bromwich Albion desperately need to bolster their ranks ahead of the new season, so perhaps the Manchester United starlet is a good option.

With less than two weeks to go before the new Premier League season begins, West Brom are surely still in desperate need of bolstering their ranks before the transfer window shuts.

Tony Pulis was already working with one of the thinnest squads in the division before the summer began, and he has only been able to make three signings – one of which immediately moved away on a two-year loan – while he has also had to cope with the loss of former captain Darren Fletcher who has joined Stoke City.

With the opening day clash with Bournemouth just around the corner, Fletcher is still yet to be replaced and there are a number of areas within the squad where the side is looking thin – so perhaps the Baggies should consider taking on one of their top flight rivals for the chance to take Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah on loan for the upcoming season.

The Daily Mail reports that Watford have asked about the 19-year-old, and a decision on the Dutchman’s availability will be made following United’s UEFA Super Cup clash later this month.

In preparation for the Red Devils’ decision, the Baggies should also register an interest in the teenager in the hope that he is allowed to leave on loan as he may be an excellent addition for Pulis’ men.

Fosu-Mensah would bring plenty of versatility, and that would make him a perfect squad member for this coming season especially when the side is looking so short on numbers, as he is capable of playing in defence and midfield, including in the role that Fletcher has left vacant at the Hawthorns.

Moving to West Brom would surely appeal to Fosu-Mensah given that the lack of depth within the squad would give him an excellent chance of playing regularly.

And Pulis can surely be confident that Fosu-Mensah would be fully determined to enjoy a successful spell with the Baggies as, having had a taste of first-team football with United, he will want to use any temporary exit as a platform to further prove himself to Jose Mourinho.
