West Bromwich Albion should be looking at Graham Potter.

Manager of Swansea City Graham Potter speaks during the Swansea City Press conference at The Fairwood Training Ground on February 21, 2019 in Swansea, Wales.

Celtic and West Bromwich Albion find themselves in similar situations; they have interim managers fighting for the job permanently, whilst other bosses are being linked with replacing them.

How their situations came about were somewhat different though. Celtic lost manager Brendan Rodgers to Leicester City, whilst West Brom sacked Darren Moore last month.

Neil Lennon immediately took over at Celtic in an interim basis, whilst James Shan is West Brom’s interim boss after the Baggies failed to land an immediate successor to Moore.

Now, The Scottish Sun claim that Celtic want Swansea City boss Graham Potter, identifying him a potential successor to Lennon if they choose not to give him the job full time.

Potter has shown real promise with Swansea this season after working miracles in Sweden with Ostersund, and West Brom should also be interested in luring him back to the club.

Potter featured for the Baggies in his playing days, and was born in nearby Solihull, meaning a return to West Brom may well be appealing to the 43-year-old.

Potter brings an attractive brand of passing football, building from the back whilst using real pace in the final third, and this mix gave Manchester City real problems in their FA Cup tie earlier this season.

Potter is an outstanding coach who can really build a project over years, and if West Brom have the patience, Potter could be the long-term manager they hoped Moore would be.

Celtic may be more appealing to many, but Potter’s ties to West Brom should put him in contention – and the Baggies would be foolish to ignore him, even if it means taking on the Bhoys.
