West Bromwich Albion are reportedly looking to add a striker to their ranks, and have been linked with a move for Leeds United’s Chris Wood.
Leeds United are reluctant to sell their key player, and it will require a hefty transfer fee to lure them into entering a negotiation with the Baggies.
While Wood has established himself as a top Championship player, delivering the same in the Premier League is a different matter altogether.
Pulis should act smart here – he should make a move for Liverpool’s Danny Ings on loan and use the money (potential Nacer Chadli sale) elsewhere.
Ings missed the majority of the 2015/16 campaign after rupturing his ACL, and picking up another serious knee problem last season.
The 25-year-old has now recovered fully after a summer of rehabilitation, and the player believes he is quickly catching up on fitness.
While Jurgen Klopp will require all his players at some point during the season, he could still do without Ings.
The Reds already have the likes of Roberto Firmino, Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Dominic Solanke on their ranks, and should allow Ings move to a Premier League club in search of regular first team football.
Obviously, his signing would be a gamble, taking his fitness record into account. However, for a player of his quality, it is worth taking the risk.
