West Bromwich Albion have been linked with one Liverpool striker but should not rule out another.
As reported by the Telegraph, West Bromwich Albion manager Alan Pardew is interested in signing Liverpool’s Danny Ings on loan in January. However he may be better off looking at another Reds player in the form of Daniel Sturridge.
With the Sun reporting that the former Chelsea striker can also move on in 2018, with a temporary move abroad alreayd mooted, the Baggies should chance their hand for a player who, when fit, remains one of the most prolific forwards in the country.
That is of course the caveat when it comes to Sturridge, with injuries taking their toll on his once outstanding career, but if West Brom could sign the player on loan they would be taking little risk in that regard.
In fact, both Ings and Sturridge have been blighted by setbacks, and Pardew needs to pick the player that is most likely to fire West Brom free from the relegation zone and back into the top half of the table.
The older of the two Liverpool players is an outstanding talent, as his return of 64 goals in 133 games for Liverpool proves.
That total, along with his goals-to-games ratio, would be far higher had it not been for his problems and he will be desperate to prove his worth ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
Remaining in the Premier League will allow Sturridge to hit the ground running, rather than needing to get used to a new league, and West Brom’s predicament means Liverpool should not be reluctant to strengthen another top flight side.
