Middlesbrough are reportedly keen on signing the Benfica ace on loan, but West Brom should enter the race.

Darren Moore the head coach

West Brom are being heavily tipped to gain promotion back to the Premier League this season, but Darren Moore is still desperate to strengthen his options before the loan window closes tomorrow.

The 44-year-old will surely be keen to bolster his attacking ranks at the Hawthorns further still, and with this in mind he should make a loan move for Benfica ace Rafa Silva, who is attracting attention from Middlesbrough, according to a report from the Sun (print edition August 26th, page 61).

Silva can play anywhere along the front-line and he possesses wonderful technical ability.

The 25-year-old would help add a certain type of quality and directness to West Brom’s play in the final third, and Moore would have something that little bit different at his disposal, if he brings the Portuguese to the Black Country.

Silva, with 10 international caps for Portugal to his name, is a really top class performer, and would be able to provide that little bit of extra magic for the Baggies.

The lively winger could also be available for £10 million next summer – an absolute steal in today’s day and age, and if Moore manages to bring him to West Brom, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for the football club.
