The Baggies should be extremely wary of bringing the 34-capped Holland international to the Hawthorns, though…

The 30-year-old has spent time in England before with Sunderland, and during his time on Wearside he proved himself to be nothing more than an over-hyped prima donna.

Lens joined the Black Cats from Dinamo Kiev in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £8 million, but he failed to establish himself at the Stadium of Light, chipping in with just four goals and three assists in 24 appearances in all competitions.

A loan spell at Fenerbahce in 2016 was followed by a permanent switch to Besiktas in 2017, but that was not before multiple indiscretions at Sunderland that led to him being banished from the first-team.

The Dutchman is obviously a talented player, but he is in possession of a majorly flawed character, and that is the last thing that West Brom need in the Championship next season.

England’s second tier is well-renowned for its robust nature, and if the Baggies are to bounce straight back up to the Premier League, they will need everyone on board, pulling in the same direction.

With this in mind, West Brom would be best served in avoiding a move for the Dutchman.
