The Baggies are keen to sign up their key midfielder to a new contract as soon as possible.
West Brom are set to offer James Morrison a new deal at the club, according to the Birmingham Mail.
The Scotland international has a year left on his current deal, which he signed in 2012, but the club are keen to secure his long-term future as soon as possible.
Their midfield ranks have already taken a hit with Youssouf Mulumbu having left on a free transfer, while the likes of Andre Wisdom and Chris Baird have also left the club.
Morrison though is not going to be one of those leaving though with manager Tony Pulis expected to open talks with the midfielder when he returns to training in July following international duty.
The 29-year-old was in impressive form last season, especially during the second half of the campaign once Tony Pulis had taken charge. He formed a strong partnership with Scotland teammate Darren Fletcher, with the duo playing a key role as the Baggies soared to safety.
In fact, such were the quality of his performances he was named the club’s Player of the Year in a vote on their official Facebook page. He currently 237 league appearances at the club, and looks set to add to that tally in future if the talks are successful.
