Nothing is guaranteed in football and QPR look set to have a marquee signing ripped away from them by Championship rivals West Brom.
Queens Park Rangers have enjoyed a busy transfer window this summer with six new signings welcomed into Marti Cifuentes’ squad.
But the Londoners have not wrapped up their business and are still in the market for extra reinforcements.
As revealed by HITC, QPR have challenged Sheffield United for Nottingham Forest’s Josh Bowler, with both sides eager to bring a winger in before the start of the season.
QPR were also working on a deal for Juventus left-back Gianluca Frabotta and had agreed a deal in principle for the 25-year-old.
However, QPR were waiting to offload Watford target Kenneth Paal before finalising the deal. Their hesitation has proved to be extremely costly.

West Brom in place to hijack QPR deal
QPR’s hesitation to seal a deal for Frabotta has allowed West Brom to enter the race.
According to Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb, West Brom could be about to hijack QPR’s deal for the Italian defender.
The report adds that both clubs are going head-to-head for the signing. There is no question about whether Frabotta will leave this summer.
Admired by Andrea Pirlo
Signing a Juventus player would be a real statement of intent for whichever club wins the transfer race.

Frabotta has not always been a starter for the Turin side with five separate loan spells since 2021, but he did enjoy a run in the side under Andrea Pirlo.
The Italian icon gave Frabotta a chance in the side after he was appointed head coach at Juventus in 2020. Frabotta was often the back-up left-back behind Alex Sandro in Turin, but under Pirlo he made 17 appearances.
