West Bromwich Albion are in the mix to sign Argentina international striker Adolfo Gaich from San Lorenzo, with TYC pointing out that he has a £13 million release-clause in his contract.
With or without the financial crisis that football is currently battling against, a deal for this talented young forward feels like it relies on West Brom securing a return to the Premier League.
After all, £13 million is a lot of money for a second-tier club.
Fortunately, the Championship is due to kick off again next month and Slaven Bilic’s Baggies are well placed to finish in one of the two automatic promotion positions alongside Leeds United.
Interestingly, West Brom have been linked with not one but two international number nines of late. Galatasaray’s Kosovan talisman Vedat Muriqi is a target, according to Fanatik – and reports from South America suggests that an Albiceleste star is also on the radar of the Midland giants.

A 6ft 3ins targetman nicknamed ‘The Tank’, Gaich is not a forward in the Sergio Aguero or Carlos Tevez mould. But he could be an inspired addition to a West Brom side who are not short of talented wingers and attacking midfielders.
Though it’s fair to say that Gaich, who made his Argentina debut last year, is also on the radar of rather bigger club than West Brom.
TYC claims that the 21-year-old is an option for a Barcelona side who are scouring the market for a long-term Luis Suarez replacement. Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked, via FootMercato.
