West Bromwich Albion are refusing to accept defeat in their pursuit of Fenerbahce’s Josef de Souza – but what of PSG loanee Grzegorsz Krychowiak?

West Brom may have replaced a manager since the summer but links with Fenerbahce midfielder Josef de Souza are not going away.
According to The Express and Star, The Baggies had agreed a deal to sign the three-cap Brazil international in August only for the deal to fall through – Souza himself stating that he was worried about a lack of playing time.
But as reported by Turkish publication Fanatik, another offer will be on the table in January. It is understood that West Brom will offer around £13 million – £2.5 million more than the fee they had agreed to pay in the summer.

The report states that Fener would rather not lose one of their key players but may be forced to cash in on Souza due to the club’s precarious financial situation.
And a new bid for the dynamic midfielder could have serious repercussions about the future of one Grzegorz Krychowiak. After a bright start, the Polish international simply hasn’t lived up to expectations and reports have stated that West Brom cut could short his season-long loan from PSG in January.

Interestingly, Polish publication Sport have linked Fenerbahce with a loan move for Krychowiak.
So this would work out well for all parties. West Brom could sign Souza and get rid of their expensive flop – while Fener would be handed an immediate replacement for their brilliant Brazilian.
