The utility man has not played for the Premier League side since February.
Chris Brunt
West Bromwich Albion have received a major boost as the Baggies club doctor has confirmed to the Express and Star that Chris Brunt is back training with the first-team.
The 31-year-old last played for Tony Pulis’ side in February, but suffered a knee injury that forced him to miss the rest of the season, as well as Northern Ireland’s European Championship campaign and the start of the new term.

But while the club doctor confirmed that they are taking things slowly given the length of time that the former Sheffield Wednesday man has spent on the sidelines, he suggested that Brunt is doing well in his recovery.
“Chris is making good progress,” Mark Gillett told the Express and Star. “He’s doing well and is now back in training.

“Obviously, we need to balance that with the fact that he has been out for the last six months.”
With the Baggies doing a relatively small amount of business during the transfer window, having Brunt back – the Express and Star suggest that he may be available to be selected from October – will be extremely pleasing to Pulis.
Brunt has most frequently featured at left-back for the Midlands outfit in recent times, but is more than capable of playing in a central or wide midfield role, so will have plenty to offer if he is able to rediscover something like his best form upon his return.
