West Bromwich Albion host Newcastle United at The Hawthorns on Tuesday looking for another positive result in the Premier League.
West Brom will be hoping that they can follow up their extremely impressive result against Tottenham at Wembley at the weekend by putting in another positive display when they take on Newcastle at The Hawthorns on Tuesday.
Gary Megson’s first game in caretaker charge saw the Baggies hold Spurs to a 1-1 draw at the national stadium – but it was West Brom who perhaps should have won the game, leading for over 70 minutes while Salomon Rondon also missed a glorious chance to put the away side back in front in stoppage-time at the end of the second-half.
Given how spirited the performance against Spurs was, it may not be the biggest shock if Megson looks to keep the side exactly the same as the one that took on Tottenham at the weekend.
That would mean that Sam Field, who was impressive in the game against Spurs as he made his first start for the first-team since August, keeps his place, leaving Grzegorz Krychowiak on the bench once again.
Given the short space of time between games however, Megson may perhaps decide to make a couple of changes to freshen the side up against a Newcastle side that have lost their last four games and have dropped into the bottom-half of the table.
Krychowiak may perhaps come in, while fellow unused substitute against Tottenham, Oliver Burke may also be in contention to play – but with the summer signing still awaiting his first league start for the Baggies, it may be a gamble to start him against Rafa Benitez’s side.
Instead, those who came on at Wembley – Claudio Yacob, James McClean and Hal Robson-Kanu – may be the most likely to come into the team if Megson decides to freshen things up.
