West Bromwich Albion face Premier League rivals Manchester City looking to reach the fourth round of the League Cup.
West Brom face Manchester City at The Hawthorns in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday looking to reach the fourth round for the first time since the 2014/15 season.
Tony Pulis’ men have made a solid start to the new Premier League season, with the Baggies currently 10th in the table, with two wins coming from their opening five games.
That unspectacular start should perhaps tempt Pulis to pick a strong team for the visit of the Citizens, who have scored 11 goals in their last two league games, as the cups should surely appeal to clubs like West Brom.
With a fairly thin squad to pick from anyway, it would hardly be a surprise to see Pulis make just a couple of changes to the side that drew 0-0 with West Ham at the weekend.
The first change sees Allan Nyom come in for Kieran Gibbs at left-back, while the other sees Hal Robson-Kanu replace Jay Rodriguez up front after the former Southampton man struggled to get into the game against the Hammers.
Meanwhile, the very strong midfield quintet of Gareth Barry, Matt Phillips, Grzegorz Krychowiak, James Morrison and Chris Brunt may well be kept in tact to give the defence as much support as possible given City’s recent lethal streak in front of goal.
