Newcastle United signed the West Bromwich Albion man on loan earlier this month.

Salomon Rondon has revealed to The Guardian that he wants to stay at Newcastle United on a permanent basis after joining loan from West Bromwich Albion this month.
Newcastle signed the Venezuela international for the entire 2018-19 campaign following West Brom’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
Dwight Gayle went the other way and joined the Baggies on a season-long loan.
Rondon, who scored seven goals in 36 league appearances for Albion last season, has only played one game for Rafael Benitez’s so far – the 2-1 defeat by Spurs at St James’s Park last week.
But the 28-year-old has revealed that he wants to stay for the long term, having clearly taken the club and city to his heart already.
“It’s a pleasure to work with Rafa, to see his tactics, his ideas,” he told The Guardian. “I’ve come here to do well, score goals and stay permanently. I know this is the biggest move of my career.”
On Thursday, West Brom activated a 12-month contract extension for Rondon, who earns around £60,000 per week according to Silly Season.
That means that Newcastle will not be allowed to sign the hitman – who now has 22 months left on his contract with The Hawthorns side – for free next summer, which was a bizarre but possible outcome up until Albion tied him down.
