Oliver Burke is dazzling on loan at Celtic from West Bromwich Albion.
Oliver Burke has told BBC Sport that he won’t be the one to decide his future, after being asked about permanently joining Celtic.
Burke has been a revelation at Celtic since joining from West Brom on a half-season loan in January.
The 21-year-old, who earns £30,000 per week at Albion [Silly Season], has previously told The Record that he would be interested in joining the Hoops.
Those comments came during Brendan Rodgers’s stint at Parkhead, but Burke reiterated last week that Rodgers’s shock exit wouldn’t have any bearing on whether he stays in Glasgow.
West Brom, who sacked manager Darren Moore this week, paid £15 million to sign him from Leipzig in 2017 [Express & Star], and the Scotland international admits to BBC Sport that a decision on his future is out of his hands.
He said: “It’s a little bit out of my hands. Obviously, I’m a West Brom player but I’m here at Celtic and that is my main focus right now. I’m playing for Celtic and I will continue doing that until whatever happens next.”
He would probably be the Hoops’ most expensive signing of all time, but it’d be worth it.
Burke has already demonstrated his Gareth Bale-like power for the Scottish Premiership leaders and fans of the Parkhead side would love to have him next season.
This is a special player and one who could be huge for Celtic over the coming years, if a deal can be struck this summer.
