West Bromwich Albion signing Kieran Gibbs feels he can improve at the club.
Kieran Gibbs put his Arsenal adventure behind him last week when he made the move to West Bromwich Albion.
The left-back is playing away from the Gunners for the first time in his career, and he believes he can improve as a player at the Baggies.
In fact his first comments made after moving to West Brom should be eye opening for Arsenal’s coaching staff.
Gibbs believes he can develop at West Brom and it will refresh his career.
Speaking to the club’s official website Gibbs said: “I spoke to him (manager Tony Pulis) and have always been impressed by him and how he goes about his work.
“He’s different to what I’ve had before and I feel he can develop me in certain areas I may be need work on.
“He can help me progress.”
Tony Pulis’ teams may have a particularly robust style, but if there are deficiencies in Gibbs’ game which need addressing, then Arsenal should have been capable of coaching his improvement too.
The fact they did not and preferred to sign Sead Kolasinac may have been the easy option, but it gives Gibbs extra incentive to grasp his new opportunity and prove the Gunners wrong to let him go.
