Manchester City have pulled out of the race to sign Evans, leaving the Gunners as favourites with manager Arsene Wenger admitting he is open to bringing in more new players during the January transfer window.

So far the only incoming business at the Emirates Stadium this month has seen Henrikh Mkhitaryan come in from Manchester United in a swap deal that saw Alexis Sanchez go the other way, and youngster Konstantinos Mavropanos signed from PAS Giannina.
Meanwhile, Francis Coquelin and Theo Walcott have also departed permanently to Valencia and Everton respectively, while negotiations are ongoing to bring in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
For the Baggies, though, they need a decision to be made quickly on Evans as the player they are potentially targeting as a replacement – Bristol City’s Aden Flint, as reported by the Bristol Post – is now wanted by another Premier League club.

Sky Sports reports that Brighton and Hove Albion have had a £6m bid for Flint rejected, with the Robins wanting closer to £10m, as the impressive performances of the towering centre-back this season have clearly caught many eyes.
With the Seagulls circling West Brom need a decision made on Evans’ future as quickly as possible as although they would obviously like to keep their skipper, if the Northern Ireland international is heading to North London then they need time to sign his successor.
