West Bromwich Albion winger James McClean has claimed that his reputation for being a reckless player is unfair, The Irish Sun reports.
Despite his obvious talent, the 27-year-old is often cited as a player who has the potential to lose his head out on the pitch, and one who attracts controversy off it.

But McClean has explained why he believes that he has done little to be labelled as such a player.
“I have a bit of an unfair reputation,” he said, as reported by The Irish Sun.

“I’ve been sent off twice in my career — and one was rescinded.
“That’s not bad for someone who seems to be a ‘loose cannon’ running into tackles. I have an unfair reputation.”

Unfortunately for McClean, the fact that he is often in the spotlight for reasons other than causing opposition full-backs nightmares means that he is unlikely to be able to shake off his reputation.
But there is no denying that he is capable of becoming a key man for the Baggies if he does concentrate on his game. Already this term, he has contributed a goal and an assist in the top flight.
And having shone in the Championship with Wigan with six goals and six assists during the 2014/15 campaign, Tony Pulis will now be hoping that the Republic of Ireland international does concentrate on his football, and proves that he can replicate kind of form at the highest level.
