West Bromwich Albion want Darragh Lenihan from Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers with fellow centre-half Cedric Kipre facing an uncertain future at the Hawthorns, as reported by the Express and Star.
Dodgy defending coupled with wasteful finishing; As far as cocktails go, this is a surefire way to give yourself a nasty hangover.
Baggies boss Steve Bruce has made no secret of his desire to add some creativity and ‘flair’ to West Brom’s attack – with John Swift and Jed Wallace two potential additions – but the fact that the Midlanders have conceded almost a goal a game on average over the last 10 months or so highlights another problem that must be solved
According to the Express and Star, 28-year-old Lenihan is a target. The Dublin-born Republic of Ireland international is due to become a free-agent with his Blackburn Rovers contract expiring in a matter of weeks.
“I need to mention Lenihan, who has got the added responsibility of captain, and he’s showing that,” outgoing Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray said back in December.
“He’s standing like a man mountain. He’s right at the top of his game. You can just tell by the way he plays on the front foot.
“He’s towering over people six inches taller than him. His passing looks so assured. He’s a special footballer.”
West Brom want Darragh Lenihan

Lenihan’s arrival, despite Matt Clarke’s return to parent club Brighton and Hove Albion, could pave the way for Kipre to bring an end to a West Brom career that has never looked like getting off the ground.
Albion will consider offers for the Frenchman this summer.

A £900,000 signing from Wigan Athletic two years ago, Kipre started just 14 of West Brom’s 46 Championship games this term. Tellingly, he did not play a minute under Bruce, with all of his outings coming under predecessor Valerien Ismael.
West Brom look certain to lose goalkeeper Sam Johnstone with Bruce confirming that the Tottenham Hotspur target won’t sign a new deal. Young striker Reyes Cleary has also turned down a contract at the Hawthorns.
