West Bromwich Albion’s hopes of luring Graham Potter back to The Hawthorns appear to have suffered a significant setback.

West Brom are bottom of the Premier League and confirmation of their relegation appears to be imminent with 10 points separating Alan Pardew’s men from safety with just seven games to go.

Championship football appears to be on the cards, and the Daily Mirror suggested earlier this month that Potter was one of the names that the Baggies were talking about potentially leading them in the second tier.
Potter is yet to manage in England but has built a major reputation for himself in Sweden having guided Ostersunds from the fourth tier to the Europa League in seven years.

However, any hopes the Baggies had of luring Potter away appear to have been dashed as his current club have confirmed on their official website that he has signed a new four year deal with them.
Of course, the fresh terms may not rule out a potential move entirely, but it appears almost certain that Potter will not be the man to lead the club he played for next season.
