Genoa and Spezia are discussing a potential swap deal involving rumoured West Brom and Fulham target M’Bala Nzola, plus Mattia Destro and Kevin Agudelo, per Gianluca Di Marzio.
Genoa want to take Nzola from their Ligurian rivals as they seek to complete boss Davide Ballardini’s attacking options. Discussions are underway between the Serie A sides to try and find an agreement for the 25-year-old before Tuesday’s deadline.
Destro and Agudelo could unlock Genoa’s hopes of signing Nzola as Spezia appreciate both options. The Stadio Alberto Picco natives also attempted to sign Destro previously, while Agudelo spent 2020/21 on loan with the Aquilotti.

Genoa are open to sending both Destro and Agudelo to Spezia if it means they sign Nzola. The two-cap Angola striker – who debuted in March – scored 11 goals and three assists in the Serie A last season. His efforts helped keep the Aquilotti in the top-flight by six points.
But West Brom and Fulham could offer Genoa competition, as Citta della Spezia claim they are monitoring his situation ahead of a potential move. The striker has found himself out of favour under new boss Thiago Motta, having been a favourite under Vincenzo Italiano.
Yet West Brom and Fulham may need to move soon if they are to beat Genoa to a deal with Spezia for Nzola. TuttoMercatoWEB also report the discussions between the Ligurian sides, and note Destro is now Spezia’s top attacking target, as well. Motta wanted to sign Roberto Picci from Atalanta, but La Dea no longer want to sell the 20-year-old.
Should West Brom or Fulham beat Genoa to sign Spezia star Nzola?
West Brom and Fulham may have their work cut out to edge Genoa to a deal for Spezia star Nzola. The Luigi Ferraris Stadium outfit have a clear advantage over the Championship rivals with Destro and Agudelo as potential makeweights.
Spezia have also long admired what Destro provides, and got a first-hand look at Agudelo last season. The winger started 14 of his 29 Serie A appearances under Italiano, and Motta may share that appreciation. If he does, it could be curtains for the Baggies and Cottagers.
