Robson-Kanu is still yet to make a major impact for West Bromwich Albion.
West Bromwich Albion forward Hal Robson-Kanu has suggested that he does not know if Atletico Madrid wanted to sign him in the summer, but insisted that he would have rejected them had they come in, FourFourTwo reports.
The 27-year-old was a free agent going into the window having left Championship side Reading at the end of last season. And he put himself on the map with a string of fine performances for Wales during their run to the Euro 2016 semi-final, during which time, he scored a Puskas Award-nominated goal in the win over Belgium.

FourFourTwo reports that that led to speculation linking him with a potential switch to the La Liga giants. And while Robson-Kanu has no proof that Atletico did come calling, he suggested that he would have still found the move to the Hawthorns the more tempting opportunity.
He told FourFourTwo: “I had my phone turned off because it was going mad – I was getting calls left, right and centre – so even if he had called me, I’d have missed it!

“Atletico are a massive football club, but my ambition was to play in the Premier League.”
Despite the rumours of a potential switch to the Vicente Calderon, Robson-Kanu is still awaiting the moment he proves exactly why West Brom wanted to sign him.
He is yet to score for the Baggies from his first nine appearances for Tony Pulis’ side, though he is also still awaiting his first start for the club, so it would arguably be extremely harsh to judge him after just 66 minutes of Premier League action.
