Markus Rosenberg failed to score a single Premier League goal for West Bromwich Albion but he’s lethal at Malmo in the Europa League.

When you talk about strikers who have aged like a fine wine, the mind immediately conjures up images of a Zlatan Ibrahimovic bicycle kick or a bullet Aritz Aduriz header. Perhaps even a Didier Drogba thunderbolt or an Antonio Di Natale flick.
But Markus Rosenberg deserves a special mention.
Five years ago, West Bromwich Albion cancelled the contract of a striker who failed to score a single goal in 33 games for The Baggies. At the age of 31 and after the most miserable spell of his career, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Rosenberg was destined to drift into obscurity.
Instead, he’s better than ever, scoring goals for fun and even netting in the Europa League at the ripe old age of 37.
It was his brilliant header, powered into the far corner, which salvaged a draw for Malmo in an all-Scandinavian tie against Copenhagen on Thursday night. Rosenberg has now scored six goals in just eight games this season for the Swedish giants as he looks to better his 2018/19 tally of 15.

In total, the former Sweden international has almost 100 goals in just over 200 games for Malmo, firing his side to three Allsvenskan titles in just five seasons.
In a week where former West Brom loanee Serge Gnabry thumped four past a beleaguered Tottenham Hotspur, another Hawthorns flop has performed heroics on the European stage.
