Krychowiak failed to live upto the hype at West Brom last season.
West Bromwich Albion flop Grzegorz Krychowiak has confirmed on Twitter that he has made the surprise decision to move on loan to Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow for the 2018-19 season.
The 28-year-old played for West Brom throughout last season, but failed to live up to the huge hype surrounding his signing when he joined the Baggies on a season-long loan from Paris Saint-Germain.
ESPN claimed over the weekend that the former Sevilla midfielder was set to join Lokomotiv on a season-long loan, with the option to buy the 54-cap permanently this time next year.
With his career in tatters after a disappointing World Cup campaign with Poland, Krychowiak has made the decision to move to Russia in a bid to reignite his stalling reputation. He posted on Twitter to confirm the move.
Krychowiak did clock up 31 appearances in all competitions for the Baggies, but failed to find the back of the net and only managed to create three goals. His style of play was simply too slow for the Premier League.
His influence on the side was summed up after Darren Moore took over, with Alan Pardew’s replacement using him for just 98 minutes of the Baggies last six matches – which saw Moore pick up 11 points before eventually being relegated.
Now, Krychowiak will look to reinvigorate his career in Russia.
