The Leicester City defender was linked with West Bromwich Albion’s main rivals last week.
Some West Bromwich Albion fans want Leicester City’s Danny Simpson to fill the Baggies’ right-back void.
According to the Express and Star, West Brom are hoping to strengthen in the position this week, after pulling out of deals to sign Jack Stacey (Luton Town), Tom James (Yeovil Town) and James Tavernier (Rangers) – with the newspaper adding that Darren Moore’s side are willing to pay around £4 million to do so.
And, according to the Daily Mail, Leicester are open to selling Simpson, whom it claimed was interesting West Brom’s local rivals, Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But with the regular window closed, the Baggies could have a free run at the 2016 Premier League winner – should they choose to pursue a deal.
