West Brom fans react on Twitter to Nick Clayton-Phillips netting brace for Baggies U23s

The West Bromwich Albion academy graduate is impressing for the U23s at The Hawthorns.

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to praise the Baggies Under-23s for their 4-2 win away at Norwich against their U23s – in particular Nick Clayton-Phillips‏’ two-goal performance.

West Brom took the lead after the half-hour mark when Chris Willock’s effort was parried by Canaries keeper Archie Mair into the path of Clayton-Phillips, who slotted home on the rebound.

Shortly after the break, the Baggies went further ahead as Willock was once again involved, whipping a ball into the box for Clayton-Phillips to deftly volley into the corner of the Norwich goal.

Rayhaan Tulloch added a third for Albion and, even though Gassan Ahadme and Patrick Roberts struck to give the Canaries a lifeline, a late Stanley Asomugha strike secured the spoils for the Baggies.

The result put West Brom fifth in the Premier League 2 second division table.
