West Bromwich Albion’s slim Premier League survival hopes took another hit as they could only draw at The Hawthorns.

West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to slam Matt Phillips’ performance as the Baggies’ slim hopes of Premier League survival suffered another setback against Swansea City on Saturday.
Darren Moore was taking charge of the club for the first time following Alan Pardew’s departure earlier in the week. And while Moore may not be an experienced manager, the esteem that he is held in at The Hawthorns would have given a number of West Brom fans a bit of hope that the change would be worthwhile and give the team a glimmer of optimism in their battle to beat the drop.

Swansea would be flying high if the season had begun from the moment that Carlos Carvalhal was appointed at the Liberty Stadium, so the Baggies would have known that they were set to be in for a difficult afternoon.
It appeared however, that there may be a possible win on the cards as Jay Rodriguez gave the home side the lead nine minutes into the second-half. But the Swans would equalise with 15 minutes to go to ensure that the points were shared to leave West Brom 10 points off safety with just five games remaining.

There were some decent performances amongst the team, but it is safe to say that the fans were not impressed by Phillips’ display and have questioned Moore’s decision to hand him a start.
The 27-year-old – signed for £5.5 million in 2016, Sky Sports reports – has been poor throughout the campaign and could only show a couple of bright flashes of quality during the draw. But they were not enough to win his critics over by any means.
