West Bromwich Albion missed the chance to move up to third in the Championship on the final day of the season.

Several West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to slam Kyle Bartley’s performance during the Baggies’ 3-1 defeat against Derby County on the final day of the Championship season.
James Shan’s men had a big role to play on Sunday. A victory against the Rams would have seen them move up to third in the table with Leeds losing at Ipswich Town, while it would have also opened the door for former boss Tony Pulis to take his Middlesbrough side into the top six at the expense of Derby.
But Frank Lampard’s side picked up the three points at Pride Park to ensure that they will join the Baggies in the top six. And much of the blame for West Brom’s defeat is being placed at Bartley’s door.
The centre-back – who cost £4 million last summer, according to the Express and Star – was involved in the penalty decision that allowed Derby to score their third goal.

It was an incredibly soft call, and it would not be a huge surprise if Tom Lawrence faced retrospective action for deceiving the official, but it was clearly a rash attempt to try and win the ball back and he did leave the referee with a decision to make.
And following the loss, several West Brom fans have expressed their hope that Bartley will not be involved in the play-off games as they are concerned about Aston Villa exploiting him across the two legs.
