West Brom could soon again be looking for a new manager and one mooted target impressed on Thursday.

Ostersunds' coach from England Graham Potter attends the UEFA Europa League group F fotball match Ostersund v Athletic Bilbao on October 18, 2017.

Arsenal’s passage to the last 16 of the Europa League was not as smooth as they might have expected on Thursday, with Graham Potter’s Ostersunds winning 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

That was still enough for the Gunners to progress 4-2 on aggregate, but the away victory can only have boosted Potter’s burgeoning career.

The 42-year-old has been linked with a number of Premier League job and the Daily Mail reported earlier in the week that West Bromwich Albion are keeping an eye on his progress.

Although the Baggies have already made a managerial change once this season – replacing Tony Pulis with Alan Pardew – they remain bottom of the table and are facing relegation.

It is no surprise that some West Brom fans would welcome Potter then, with time already running out on Pardew’s ill-fated and apparently short tenure.

West Brom face Huddersfield Town this weekend in a huge clash at the bottom of the table.

The Hawthorns outfit still have Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to play between now and the end of the season, with the seven-point gap to safety now giving any new manager an uphill task.
