The 24-year-old, who destroyed Spurs last night, had a loan spell at The Hawthorns in 2015.

A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have been commenting on Twitter about Serge Gnabry’s performance for Bayern Munich in the 7-2 hammering of Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
The 24-year-old, who famously had a poor spell on loan at The Hawthorns and was criticised by former West Brom boss Tony Pulis, became the first player to score four goals in the second half of a Champions League game as the Bundesliga side gave Spurs a thrashing on their own turf.
Pulis was in charge of West Brom when he had the winger on what was supposed to be a season-long loan from Arsenal in 2015, but the player struggled badly, playing only 12 minutes of Premier League football and making a further two starts in the League Cup
In the end, the arrangement was cut short, with Pulis saying “Serge has come here to play games but he just hasn’t been for me, at the moment, at that level to play the games” (The Metro), and the player eventually made the switch from the Gunners to Germany with Werder Bremen in 2016 before switching to Bavaria a year later.
Here is what some Baggies fans on social media have been saying about their ex-loanee and his latest exploits on the big stage:
