Leicester City are reportedly set to recall Harvey Barnes in January.

West Bromwich Albion are going well under Darren Moore this season, but they may be about to receive a huge blow to their automatic promotion hopes.

Moore’s side can’t stop scoring goals, with a league-high 31 goals scored in just 12 games; the next closest are Leeds United on 22.

Dwight Gayle and Jay Rodriguez have been a key part of that, but so has winger Harvey Barnes, who joined West Brom in a loan deal from Leicester City over the summer.

Barnes, 20, has started all 12 of West Brom’s Championship games this season, and has notched a hugely impressive five goals and two assists in those games.

Barnes is currently off with the England Under-21 squad for the international break, but The Express and Star report that Leicester are set to recall him in January.

The Foxes have the likes of Marc Albrighton, Rachid Ghezzal and Demarai Gray out wide, but with none of them filling Riyad Mahrez’s role yet, another winger may be wanted.

Barnes therefore looks set to head back to the King Power Stadium in 2019, and West Brom fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the worrying rumour.

Some believe that West Brom only have themselves to blame having sought short-termism with signing Barnes, with many gutted that he could be on the move – but many think Leicester are making a major mistake, with first-team football at The Hawthorns far more important right now, fearing that he will end up sat on the bench at Leicester rather than playing regularly.
