The Birmingham City boss, Garry Monk, was linked with a move to West Bromwich Albion earlier in the summer.

West Bromwich Albion fans are reacting to claims Garry Monk could leave his position as Birmingham City manager.
Sky Sports reports that Monk’s relationship with the Birmingham board has grown strained, adding that the 4-year-old was opposed to the deal that saw the Blues playmaker, Jota, sold to their local rivals, Aston Villa, in a part-exchange deal involving Gary Gardner.
And with Monk having been linked with a move to a West Brom, another West Midlands side, earlier this summer some of an Albion persuasion are putting two and two together.
That is despite the Birmingham Mail‘s claim that West Brom are even closer to appointing Slaven Bilic as Darren Moore’s permanent successor.
This is what they’re saying on Twitter…
Monk kept Birmingham in the Championship after arriving at St Andrew’s late in the 2017/18 season, and to 17th last term against a backdrop of financial problems leading to a nine-point deduction.
And Sky Sports that Monk has concerns that his transfer pot and wage budget will not allow Birmingham to compete in the coming Championship campaign, in which West Brom will again feature.

Could there be a late twist yet in West Brom’s pursuit of a new manager?
