Hal Robson-Kanu did not enjoy the best evening as West Bromwich Albion were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Premier League rivals Manchester City.

West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment at Hal Robson-Kanu’s performance and their shock at the Welshman’s late miss in their Carabao Cup defeat to Manchester City at The Hawthorns on Wednesday night.
The Baggies went into the clash with the Citizens having scored just twice in their previous three games, and having only scored more than once on one occasion so far – the 3-1 win over Accrington Stanley in a previous round of the same competition.

That lack of goals may have been what persuaded Tony Pulis to hand Robson-Kanu his first start of the season with neither Jay Rodriguez or Salomon Rondon proving particularly ruthless in front of goal this term.
But unfortunately, the Wales international did little to suggest to Pulis that he should keep his starting spot for Monday’s game with Arsenal as City booked their place in the next round with a 2-1 win.

Leroy Sane scored twice, either side of a Claudio Yacob equaliser. But Robson-Kanu had a golden opportunity late on to send the game into extra-time as he found himself through on goal.
However, the former Reading man managed to hit the post much to the disbelief of the West Brom fans. And those who have taken to social media have certainly been less than complimentary about the forward’s performance.
Here is the best of the reaction…
