West Bromwich Albion maintained their 100 per cent start to the new season with a 1-0 win against Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
The Baggies’ goal came courtesy of Hal Robson-Kanu, who got sent off just a few minutes later to make it an eventful cameo appearance for the striker.
West Brom are one of only two sides that have so far won their opening two games of the campaign and they sit alongside free-scoring Manchester United at the top of the Premier League table.
Baggies boss Tony Pulis will be delighted with his side’s start but he will know this is just the beginning of a long and tough campaign.
For that reason, every point they pick up in the opening months of the season could prove vital when they reach April and May.
While Robson-Kanu took the headlines, West Brom’s summer signing Gareth Barry impressed after moving to The Hawthorns from Everton earlier this month.
The experienced former England international played the whole match in the heart of West Brom’s midfield and he did not disappoint, looking every inch an able replacement for the recently departed Darren Fletcher.
