West Bromwich Albion would have known all about Romaine Sawyers before their clash on Monday night.

A number of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Romaine Sawyers’ display for Brentford in the 1-1 draw on Monday night that leaves Darren Moore’s side four points off the top two in the Championship.
The Baggies had the chance to move to within two points of Leeds. And it appeared that they would do exactly that as Harvey Barnes gave the home side the lead 13 minutes from time at The Hawthorns.

The 27-year-old spent his final year on the Baggies’ books working alongside Moore following his appointment as a youth coach in 2012. And The Telegraph reported during the summer that West Brom were plotting a £3 million bid for the midfielder five years after his departure.
There were a couple of home supporters who suggested that they did not believe that Sawyers would improve their squad if the Baggies reignited their interest. However, the large majority appear to have been impressed with what they saw from the former Walsall man, and some have hinted that they would be happy to see Moore make another move in the future.
