West Bromwich Albion’s poor recent form continued as they were beaten 3-1 away at Manchester City on Tuesday evening.

The Baggies, who lost 1-0 at home to Chelsea on Friday evening, faced another tough task as they travelled to take on Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium, and found themselves 2-0 down in the first half after quickfire goals from Gabriel Jesus and Kevin De Bruyne.

Yaya Toure made it 3-0 to the hosts in the second half, and West Brom pulled back a consolation late in the day, with Hal Robson-Kanu finding the net.

It’s now just two points in the last eight games for Tony Pulis’ men, who are suffering a real end of season slump, with a host of players struggling to make an impact against City.

One player who received plenty of criticism was winger Nacer Chadli, who failed to stamp his authority on the game despite being on the pitch for the full 90 minutes.

The Belgian winger, signed from Tottenham Hotspur back in August 2016, has notched five goals and five assists this season, but has only been able to register one goal and no assists in his last nine West Brom outings.

It was yet another blank for Chadli on Tuesday night, and fans took to Twitter to claim that he has quickly become a waste of space for the Baggies, even suggesting that he is as bad as former signings Luke Moore and Giorgios Samaras.

Others blamed Pulis’ defensive, negative tactics for Chadli being so ineffective going forward, suggesting that he isn’t getting the best out of the Belgian right now after another disappointing display.
