When Saido Berahino equalised for West Bromwich Albion against Liverpool on Saturday, Baggies fans will have been forgiven for thinking their outstanding recent run under Alan Irvine would continue.
Alas it was not to be, with Jordan Henderson scoring what proved to be the winning goal shortly after the hour-mark, but the visitors still had much to be proud of.
Cristian Gamboa made his first league start of the season on Saturday, and the World Cup star impressed throughout. He had a passing accuracy of 80 per cent, won three tackles, eight duels, one aerial duel and two interceptions. He also made nine effective clearances in total.
