West Bromwich Albion left Merseyside empty-handed as they were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday evening.
The Baggies fell behind as Sadio Mane fired home from Roberto Firmino’s cross, before Mane set up Coutinho for a second before half-time.
Tony Pulis did see a response from his side in the second half as Gareth McAuley grabbed a goal back, but it proved to be little more than a consolation.

West Brom now sit in 13th place in the Premier League table with no wins in their last four games, but manager Pulis won’t be too disappointed with his side’s start to the season.
He may, however, be disappointed with the performance of full back Allan Nyom, who started on the left hand side of West Brom’s defence – despite largely being a right back or centre back.

Nyom, 28, joined West Brom from Watford on deadline day, giving Pulis another versatile defender – but it’s fair to stay he struggled at left back against Liverpool.
The Cameroon international was caught hopelessly out of position for Mane’s opener, and he didn’t offer much going forward either as West Brom struggled to cope with Jurgen Klopp’s men.

After the game, West Brom fans took to Twitter to blast Nyom’s display, suggesting he should be dropped after some awful positional sense, which made ‘Andre Wisdom look like Cafu’.
Others slammed manager Pulis for not playing a recognised left back, though others were more sympathetic towards Nyom considering that he was playing out of position.
