West Bromwich Albion needed a late penalty to secure a draw with Reading at the Hawthorns on Wednesday night.

A number of West Brom fans have suggested on Twitter that they are not convinced that Charlie Austin is fully fit and completely up to speed after his lacklustre display against Reading on Wednesday night.
Slaven Bilic’s men came from behind to draw 1-1 with the Royals at the Hawthorns. They only secured a share of the points after Kenneth Zohore converted a very late penalty having gone behind when Ovie Ejaria thumped the ball into the back of the net from outside the box with just under 20 minutes remaining.
It was a disappointing and frustrating night for Austin, who is still awaiting his first league goal for the Baggies having completed a £4 million move from Southampton on transfer deadline day (fee reported by the Daily Echo).
The 30-year-old attempted four shots, but only managed to put one on target, with Whoscored.com showing that he had two attempts blocked while one was put off target.

The effort he did have saved was not an easy chance, but was perhaps one that he will be annoyed with missing as the ball was cut back to him just outside the six-yard box. It did appear that the pass was slightly behind him, and it needed a good save to be kept out, but some felt that he should have still done better.
There appears to be a mixed reaction to Austin’s display. Some have given the striker the benefit of the doubt and suggested that he is simply not up to full sharpness yet having spent the summer out of favour at St Mary’s. But others have been more critical of his performance, with one supporter even suggesting that he was lazy.

Here is what some of the West Brom fans made of Austin’s display…
