West Bromwich Albion were beaten comfortably and remain at the bottom of the Premier League table.
Ben Foster
West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to heap praise on Ben Foster after the goalkeeper made a string of stunning saves as the Baggies fell to a disappointing defeat against Manchester City.
Despite the buzz surrounding the deal for Daniel Sturridge and the fact that Baggies fans could probably just start to relax regarding Jonny Evans’ immediate future, Alan Pardew would have known that he was facing one of the toughest test of his managerial career in the top flight with the Premier League leaders facing his side, who, following Swansea City’s win over Arsenal on Tuesday, are three points adrift at the bottom.

And in truth, there were few incidents that suggested that the game was anything other than a top versus bottom clash as City largely strolled to their 22nd league victory of the campaign.
The 3-0 scoreline would have been significantly worse if it was for Foster’s display between the sticks for the visitors. The 34-year-old was excellent for the Baggies and may be the one player who played the entire game for the away side who did not deserve to be on the wrong side of a 3-0 result.

His performance prompted a number of West Brom fans to laud the stopper on social media and express their disappointment for him that the rest of the side did not seem to match his levels.
One fan even suggested that if the unthinkable does happen and West Brom go down, losing Foster would be the biggest potential blow that the club could be dealt, such is his importance to the team.
Here is the best of the reaction…
